S.O.P Performances '07
Summer of Peace was started by local artists and activists Fidel Verdin and Tonya Cromartie, in response to the international violence fueled by Sept. 11 and the war on Iraq.
Summer of Peace expanded to deal with the issue of violence right in Milwaukee.
Summer of Peace has grown from a one-day rally to a summer full of workshops, performances, and youth lead discussions.

Community organizations, families, and youth leaders from all over the city come for a day of peace in Kadish park.

Youth march the streets demanding peace!

Milwaukee Public Theatre has its roots in a profound belief in the arts as a healing resource that must be available to all people, regardless of age, ability/disability, culture, ethnicity or income level.
Most of our work is free-to-the-public, AND we pay our artists as professionals. So we seek public as well as private funding and contracts from organizations to make sure we are able to reach YOU.
Original and Adapted Theatreworks
Milwaukee Public Theatre specializes in the creation of theatreworks that celebrate and challenge. Summer free-to-the-public musical/vaudeville/ circus productions tour Milwaukee's parks and public places. Touring shows present vital issues including the economics and politics of food, illiteracy, homelessness, health and other contemporary themes and social issues.
